The TrueNorth Greater Cedar Rapids Open, in conjunction with Hunters Ridge Golf Course and Granite City Food and Brewery, will host its inaugural Neighborhood Open house from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, April 30 at the Hunters Ridge Lodge.
The GCRO would like to invite all its friends and neighbors from the Hunters Ridge subdivision to come out and see what this great event is all about. There will be complimentary appetizers courtesy of presenting sponsor Granite City along with complimentary beverages.
The 19th annual TrueNorth GCRO will be held July 25-29 at Hunters Ridge. It is the second largest professional golf tournament in Iowa and has been a springboard for PGA Tour golfers Zach Johnson, George McNeill, Derek Lamely, Brian Stuard and others. Its $25,000 first-place prize is among the largest in the country for mini-tour events. And, as importantly, the GCRO has given back over $150,000 to charitable organizations and programs in the Corridor area, including $17,000 in 2016 alone.
Come out and learn about the programs and golfing opportunities at Hunters Ridge and about the opportunities to help out at the GCRO in July. Each year the tournament counts on its volunteers to make it one of the top minor league tournament stops in the nation.
Stop by and join your friends for a little golf talk and some food and drinks. There is no obligation. Among the featured tables will be Volunteers, Housing, GCRO Charitable benefactors including the Iowa PGA Foundation’s Swing with Kids, Ladies on the Ridge golf league, Hunters Ridge Junior Golf and season passes and Lodge rentals, Email the GCRO at gcroopen@gmail.com or call Hunters Ridge at 319-377-3500 for more information.
